The Inland Bays Regional Wastewater Facility is Sussex County's largest public wastewater treatment plant. Monitoring wells at the facility have recorded nitrate levels exceeding 112 mg/L, more than 11 times the federal safety limit. Despite being central to the contamination crisis, the facility was deliberately excluded from class action remediation requirements.
